The spiritualSaint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji Insan, better known for teaching free meditation, has been using his singing and music as a primary tool as his crusade for humanitarianism and welfare enters its third decade now. In a recent ceremony in his hometown Sirsa, Haryana, Universal Music India presented Saint Insanwith a plaque celebrating impressive sales of his recent albums.

Speaking on the occasion, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim SinghjiInsansaid“Throughout the world I pray that everyone must live in peace and harmony. Communal amity must prevail. The central idea behind this musical endeavor is to wean people away from prevalent social evils such as drugs and alcohol. The youth constitutes over 70% of the membership of our Organisation and there is no better medium than `music’to guide them to the right direction in a format that they best understand.”

Adding to this Devraj Sanyal, Managing Director, Universal Music and EMI Music, South Asia said “I have been working with Guruji and his team for over 2 years now and I can tell you that he stands out as a different kind of artist to any other in his genre. His sheer ability to sing in multiple languages at a stretch of six to seven hours every week to an average live audience of over 5 million will impress anyone.
