Mumbai’s entertainment industry comes together in the spirit of 26/11 Memorial Day

The spirit of 26/11 Memorial Day, is one of solemn remembrance and appreciation of the sacrifices made on that day. Leading personalities from the Indian entertainment industry have joined the social movement. Commemorating the bravery and martyrdom of ours soldiers in Mumbai terror attacks, FANS (Forum for Awareness of National Security) is organizing the inaugural edition of 26/11 Memorial Day. Scheduled to be held on 26th of November 2017, at BSE building, Fort, Mumbai. The event is aimed at creating awareness and vigilance against terrorism. The objective is to remember 26/11 as a memorial day henceforth.
Top notch actors from the Indian television and film industry such as Divyanka Tripati, Arun Bijlani, Shrenu Parikh, Vineet Raina, Ravi Dubey, Shubhangi Atre, Surbhi Chandana, Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, Hema Malini and many more have supported the cause. Motivating the citizens of Mumbai to counter the general perception about them, the actors swore not to give in to their consuming work life and most importantly, never to forget and never to forgive the atrocities meted out on their city.
Commenting on her support to the cause, TV Actress, Divyanka Tripathi said, “It is absolutely true what they say about Mumbaikars, we know how to leave things behind us and move on in life. However, if our forward looking attitude is mistaken as our complacency and that Mumbai will let go off anything, then the attackers and terrorists are mistaken. Because on the eve of this 26/11 Memorial Day, we pledge – #NeverForgetNeverForgive.”

Slated to kick start at 10:00 am, the programme will be inaugurated with a brief introduction on the concept of the event, followed by a Diya-Lighting-Ceremony by Indresh Kumarji – Mentor of FANS, Hansraj Ahir – Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, Kiren Rijiju – Union Minister of State for Home Affairs of India, Dr. Subhash Bhamre – Union Minister of State for Defence, and other dignitaries present at the event. The event will be concluded with a Vote of Thanks to all organizers, contributors and supporters.
