India’s first of its kind Zumbathon® Charity Event where Zumba® instructors, students and enthusiasts came together for a charity! The stage was set at Phoenix Marketcity (Kurla) on Saturday, 13th of June, 5 pm onwards. This was open for all and attendees also contributed on the day to Bal Snehalya, a school for runaway children, slum areas and homeless children.

Bal Snehalya is a project by Rainbow Foundation and a joint initiative by Rainbow Foundation, Railway Police, Thane Police and Thane Municipal Corporation which takes care of the education and stay of these children.

The most exciting part of the evening was the Zumba inspired fitness/dance off battle between Mumbai’s best Zumba instructor teams, conceptualized and lead by India’s Zumba Education Specialist – Sucheta Pal.

Mrs. India 2015 Priyanka Khurana Goyal, ZES™ Sucheta Pal (India) and ZES™ Elena Baranova (Russia) were the judges for the evening and upcoming Bollywood star Chirag Thakkar, the silver screen star leading in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Aashiyanaa and Amita ka Amit was the special guest for the evening.

On this occasion Mrs. India 2015 Priyanka Khurana Goyal enjoyed doing Zumba and expressing her feelings she said, “Health and fitness are like water and oxygen for the human body. Zumba as a fitness method spreads great joy and invigorates your mind, body and spirit and the true joy is when this form of art is associated with the goodwill cause of charity.

As Mrs. India 2015, I take great honor and pride to associate myself with Sucheta for this Zumbathon initiative for Bal Snehalaya NGO. Kudos to all Zumba instructors for supporting this great cause.”
