With #MissionMangal Akshay Kumar makes it amply clear that getting real is the actual real because there can’t be any higher You can get when it comes to reliving the Achievements of our Motherland with such aplomb ?
Akshay virtually puts himself into the mould of a scientist who are not only geniuses but are as quirky and eccentrics when it comes to ideas and than going about putting them into practice which may sound unusual to the layman but are the little gems which go on to create History.
Attempting a film on a subject of such level where the hero is the Team of Scientists at ISRO compromising of both male lead by Akshay Kumar , Sharman Joshi has his Mangalik moments and shines too. Whereas the female brigade of Vidya Balan , (a special mention to Vidya where you get to see a different facet of her persona who demonstrates real meaning of Love – Passion and Commitment towards one’s family and the work you are married to thereby holding the family and work front very comfortably without any hue and cry and enjoying it all the more. ) Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha , Nithya Menon , Kirti Kulhari all have their moments of participation and give their very best performance and contribute equally in making India’s first interplanetary expedition “Mars Orbiter Mission” ( MOM ) also known as Mangalyaan a huge success. This is not only commendable but calls for great team spirit on the part of the Writer , Director and most importantly the Producers of the film and the entire Cast and Crew.
Director Jagan Shakti with R Balki who is the writer and also the Creative Director seems to have done ample research as we see the whole story of Mangalyaan unfold with day to day household examples thereby simplifying the total narrative. Science as a subject is not everybody’s cup of tea so we could see as to how the makers have fictionalised the concept and given it a regular touch and in the process making it palatable for even a layman to understand the intricacies of such a landmark program.
Watching Mission Mangal is like watching a film from the perspective of a Family where the family values and responsibility of the main leading protagonists who are scientists are beautifully woven and integrated with the story line with such an ease that it becomes an highly consuming drama and more so because the monumental mission required each one of them to put in two third of their days time towards the accomplishment of the mission. So there was bound to be home pressure plus the work pressure , putting aside all the notions at bay that even scientists are human beings and that they too have their problems in the family way and otherwise worldly wise.
The story of this film belongs to ISRO and it is about a mission and the sacrifices people have made for it to be a huge success. The whole credit goes to the writer R Balki and the Director Jagan Shakti for making the film in a more lighter narrative mode which is the main unique stay point of this film and is not only inspirational but also adds an informative and educational value which can help it to reach to a wider audience and create an awareness of our countries achievements to masses at large.
All Scientists portrayed by the main lead actors give in their best shot working at ISRO by putting in their best foot to make #Mangalyaan a #ViewersDelight. Just don’t Miss this Gem of a film and go and watch with your children and family … highly inspirational and an example in Motivation, Grit & Determination and Lessons Learnt in life that Impossible actually means ( I M Possible ).
