MIRAGE by Parul Bhargava’ showcases on Day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015
‘MIRAGE by Parul Bhargava’ debuted its Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Lakme Fashion Week this season – a visual interpretation of French Impressionist Claude Monet famous works ‘Water Lilies’.
The designer was first introduced to his work by the movie ‘Minuit A Paris’ that speaks extensively about French culture, artists from the 1920 – 30s era and Monet himself. Following a visit to Monet’s flower garden at Giverny which was his inspiration for this series of oil paintings and the main focus of his artistic production during the last thirty years of his life; the designer derived inspiration from his creations and infused them in the form of embroidery and prints into this collection.
The showstopper was actress & model Anjana Sukhani.
The color palette comprised of soft pastels seen in his garden depicting peace, love and passion intertwined with solid black and navy to create a seamless integration of strength and elegance. The Japanese Bridge present in the garden was the derivative for the angles in the silhouettes. The theme adopted was vintage comprising of both body flattering as well as fluid and draped separates.
