Masaba Gupta: Karan Johar is experimental, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is classy!

Ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta, who made her foray in the fashion industry with GenNext show at Lakme Fashion Week few years ago, successfully carved a niche for herself in the fashion world. And today, she’s one of India’s leading designers with some of the finest shows to her credit.

Known for creating quirky designs, the young successful designer’s creations won her many accolades at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week 2015 graced by Bollywood’s A-listers as showstoppers. The highlight of the fashion week was certainly Shahid Kapoor and his newly-wed wife Mira Kapoor walking the ramp for their favourite designer and friend, Masaba.

Masaba has showed interest on styling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol and Karan Johar. Commenting on their fashion sense and hoping to style them in the near future, Masaba said, “Karan is very experimental. He wears very cool stuff and is ahead of his time when it comes to men’s fashion. I think for him, I will go for some really cool printed jackets, may be with a very fun lining. He loves colour contrast.”

The glamorous B-town Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is also on Masaba’s wishlist, as she says, “For someone like Aishwarya, I think I would pick something from her new collection, since she has been wearing a lot of wrap dresses, suits, etc. She is someone who is very classy. Aishwarya doesn’t really play around with silhouettes too much. She likes to keep it clean and classic. Some of the basic styles for her would be apt.”

On styling Kajol, Masaba says, “I think she is looking great nowadays. She is been working on herself. I think a flown skirt and crop top would be perfect for her. She would look very beautiful.”

But not all are fashion conscious in the industry. “I don’t think, anyone is worst dressed because everybody has a different taste. For, me if something is really bad on someone, it might be the most chic thing for someone else. I think I have learnt not to comment on people who are not up to my pallet,” Masaba says.
