Making Of The Song ‘Chaoro’ From Mary Kom Movie

The video portrays Priyanka singing the lyrics to ‘Chaoro’

The lullaby ‘Chaoro’ in the movie Mary Kom is one of the most vital moments that showed Priyanka Chopra in a vulnerable state as her child suffered from consistent high fever. Knowing that this movie revolved around the resilience of Mary Kom and how she fought against the society and the system to fulfil her dream, this lullaby shows every mother’s angst when her child is suffering.

Composer Shashi Suman says, “Omung wanted the lyrics to be close to Manipur. Luckily, we found this guy from Manipur named Biju who gave me Manipuri lyrics and we formatted the lyrics and used words to go along.”

Priyanka manages to get the feel and emotion of the song through her melodious voice. She said that the song required her to be very soft and gentle in her singing, and she hopes that she was able to create a special motherly bond through the song.
