An Album of Singles Arrives 6 Sensational Singers – 1 Love Album
An unique album titled “LOVE IS IN THE AIR” is being released by BIG DIGITAL on the 15th of May, ’12.
It was an idea & concept Babul Supriyo worked upon tirelessly in the last one year when he tried to convince a FM station to support this concept of “AN ALBUM OF SINGLES”, a first time in India, SINGLES being a very popular concept in the western world music culture, never tried in India.
The album is NOT a compilation but consists of one fresh love song by 6 prominent singers, namely Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali, Neha Bhasin and Babul himself. We have heard Babul sing many a chartbuster in movies like Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Hum Tum and Fanaa. He has also been a judge in many reality shows. Of late he has also been a hugely successful actor in Bengali movies. Babul Supriyo, a man of many facets, is one of the most talented artistes the Indian film and music industry has seen in the recent past. From a job in a multinational bank to playback singing to acting in films, Supriyo has come a long way.
This is not the first time though that Babul Supriyo is venturing into private albums. His Bengali albums on Rabindra Sangeet have been chartbusters for the last few years. Even his Hindi basic albums have done exceedingly well. People still hum his songs Khoya Khoya Chand and Sochta Hoon, the album that won him the coveted MYV award.
The singer is convinced that songs from his pet project “LOVE IS IN THE AIR’ is all set to top the music charts once again.
