Post a successful Weekend in Singapore this year, Wizcraft International Entertainment – Middle East and Kingdom of Dreams celebrated the success of IIFA for the second year with an exclusive screening of excerpts from the IIFA Awards presentation ceremony. Powered by Air India, the evening of glitz and glamour was hosted at The Ritz Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre on Friday where the stars joined Dubai’s elite to toast IIFA’s success.

Prior to the IIFA screening, Indian designer, Masaba Gupta and Dubai based designer, Varoin Marwah showcased a special IIFA Glitterati fashion segment. Leading actress, Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Masaba while young starlet, Geeta Basra walked for Varoin.

The IIFA Glitterati collection by Masaba was showcased in Singapore at IIFA Rocks during the IIFA Weekend in Singapore. The line showcased is a chic fusion wear line with strong Indian elements – the colour palette and feel of the collection is inspired by the IIFA logo which has the Sun as its guiding light. The designs are avant garde, drawing inspiration from the ‘Sun’.

Varoin Marwah made his debut and created a niche for himself at the IIFA 2012 Dubai celebrations with his innovative and classic fashion sense. He has crafted a special collection, capturing the New India as well as IIFA’s glitz with 22 exclusive pieces. Avariety of rich fabrics have been used to create a spectacular collection such as silk, velvet, linen, quilted material as well as specially treated fabrics  for the entire collection.  A wide variety of colors have been used to create the collection as well as use of black and gold to maintain the IIFA Glitterati theme,

Speaking about the IIFA Celebrations, actress Kangana Ranaut said, “IIFA has made great strides across the world, taking the Indian Film fraternity to different countries each year, widening the reach of  Indian Cinema. I am proud to be a part of this phenomenon and am happy to support IIFA and be a part of these celebrations here, in Dubai.”

The first IIFA Awards were held at the Millennium Dome in London in 2000 and have gone on to cities like Sun City, Amsterdam, Toronto, Yorkshire, Macau and Colombo among others, with the most recent being celebrated in Singapore.  The IIFA Weekend and Awards were held in Dubai in 2006.

The exclusive screening is preceded by an exclusive IIFA Green Carpet, a night before the telecast for television audience across the World on Star Plus, 8 pm onwards.
