Katy Perry contributes Unconditionally remix to Songs for the Philippines charity album

Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Adele, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Sara Bareilles are among the artists who have contributed songs to a new digital compilation album that will raise money to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.  Thousands were killed, injured or left homeless when the typhoon tore through the Philippines earlier this month.

Titled Songs for the Philippines, the digital release boasts 39 cuts, most of which have previously been released. Among the tracks featured on the collection are Adele’s version of “Make You Feel My Love,” a remix of Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally,” the “Country Road” remix of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger,” fun.’s “Carry On,” Madonna‘s “Like a Prayer,” Pink’s “Sober, ” Justin Timberlake‘s “Mirrors,” “Brave” by Sara Bareilles, Bruno Mars’ “Count on Me,” and “Sirens,” an album cut from Cher‘s latest.

 Tracks from U2, The Beatlesthe FrayAlicia Keys, Beyonce and Josh Groban also appear on the compilation.

 All proceeds raised from sales of Songs for the Philippines will go to the Red Cross to assist with the work they’re carrying out for the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.  You download the album at iTunes now, and even give it to friends.

 Huge numbers – including many children – were left homeless after Typhoon Haiyan hit.  Many are now living in cramped, unhygienic conditions in damaged buildings.

 Around 33,000 children are now being immunised against measles and polio in the typhoon-hit city of Tacloban.
