Jury Chairperso​n of JIFF 2012 will be one of the prominent filmmakers of Indian cinematic history Mr. Basu Chatterjee

The decisions taken by the jury committee of Jaipur International Film Festival is highly appreciated by the people across the world.  Due to the transparent and unbiased approach of the jury members in selection of the film, 5 films from JIFF 2009, 2010 and 2011 also fetched the National Film Award.  It has not only increased the prestige of JIFF but also enhanced the trust of the filmmakers in the festival.

 

This year, the Jury Chairperson of JIFF 2012 will be one of the prominent filmmakers of Indian cinematic history Mr. Basu Chatterjee.  He was born on January 10, 1930 in district Ajmer, Rajasthan.  In his career, he has won 5 Filmfare Awards and in the year 2007 he was bestowed with IFFA Lifetime Achievement Award.  As a professional filmmaker, he had directed nearly 42 titles and also wrote the screenplay and dialogues of numerous films.

 

The major films that are credited under his name include Kamla ki Maut (1991), Jeena Yahan (1980), Swami (1977), Choti si Baat (1976), Rajnigandha (1975), and Saara Aakash (1972).
