Brand New Studio Album `PRESS PLAY’ Released Worldwide on Universal Music
In what is touted to be one of the most anticipated albums of the New Year, leading music label Universal Music today announced the release of Adnan Sami’s latest studio album, ‘Press Play’. This is Adnan’s first studio album in five years and his first on major record label Universal Music.
The eagerly awaited 11 track album includes 8 brand new songs ranging from Sami’s signature ballads to his up-tempo lyrically stylized humour. All the songs on this album retain Adnan’s unmistakable proficiency in achieving the perfect blend of lyrics and melody.
Speaking on the album and his signing with Universal Music, Adnan Sami says, “It’s a been a long time since my fans have heard something new and exciting from me and I sincerely hope that their wait has been worth it. The launch of Adnan Sami’s new album PRESS PLAY saw several notable members of the music and film industry attend his launch at the JW Marriott last week to congratulate the singer on his comeback after a 5 year long hiatus. Adnan Sami has been enthralling Indian audiences since his first release in 1999, an album of love songs titled ‘Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao’ which comprised among others the massive hits “Lift Karadey” and the album’s title track “Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao”. The album went on to become one of the best-selling non-film albums of all time in India.
Adnan’s popularity only rose from there on, as he released his second album ‘Tera Chehra’ which broke several records including those that Adnan had broken with this first album. ‘Tera Chehra’ went on to become the biggest selling independent album in India….and if that’s not enough, it also became the biggest selling `Indian’ album of all time in the US and Canada, even surpassing Bollywood soundtracks,.
