Originally a novel, published in 1982,War Horse was an instant success across the world. In 2007, the novel was adapted into a stage play at London’s National Theatre and audience’s craze for it knew no bounds. When Steven Spielberg himself saw the play he loved it so much that seven

 

month later he had already started shooting it, clearly indicating his passion towards this project.

Says Spielberg,“When my wife and I flew to London and we got a chance to see War Horse for the first time, that sealed the deal, as far as I was concerned. One of the things that attracted me to the story was the silent communication between Man and Animal”War Horse

 

is the story of a miraculous horse named Joey and his trainer Albert set in World War I.

This DreamWorks and Reliance Entertainment film that releases in India on 10th February follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his

 

granddaughter.

So touched was Spielberg by the play that he even cried while watching it.“The play made me cry. The hope that Joey brings to Albert and to every human character in the play, made me cry,” he admits candidly.
