Idea Jalsa welcomes Holi with a vibrant musical evening
Spring is here and so are the colors of joy. The auspicious festival of holi that showers us not only with colors but also with the soulful melodies, frolic and love was welcomed with much zeal and enthusiasm in an event held in Delhi’s Siri Fort. The event, Idea Jalsa Holi – Music for the Soul, a celebration concert was for crossing 100 million viewers on TV and completing 5 years of Musical Journey.
In a beautifully created setting the powerful voice of the immensely talented Folk singers Master Saleem and Malini Awasthi, brought back to life the immortal folk melodies.
Master Saleem of maa da ladla fame, who has also sung many bollywood songs like Humka Peeni hai and the feet tapping entertaining Punjabi Folk and Sufi Music, and bollywood songs like ‘Aawara’ from the film ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ and ‘Aahun aahun’ from the film, ‘Love Aaj Kal’. Malini Awasthi mesmerized the audience with her performance in Awadhi Folk and Hori signature music.
Commenting on the occasion; Durga Jasraj of Idea Jalsa said, “It’s a milestone for us at Art & Artistes to have completed 5 years of Idea Jalsa and to have undertaken such a unique multimedia journey. Bringing together more than 50 genres of Live Music performances has been an enriching experience.” She also said that Delhi is the city from where they get the maximum voting in favor of Idea Jalsa and she was thankful for that.
Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia was the chief guest for the evening. After every performance the full house cheered and appreciated the singing.
The event was a pre-holi mohatsav. For the record, over 700 artists with 50 different genres of music made the entire event splendid and successful.
