Kuldeep Nayar and N Ram to be honoured with RedInk lifetime achievement awards.

 

The Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Mr Manish Tewari will be the Guest of Honour at the prestigious RedInk Awards, presented by the Press Club, Mumbai to honour excellence in Journalism.  The award function is being held at NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai on Saturday evening.

On this occasion, the I&B Minister will also participate in a Panel Discussion on “Keeping Media Free & Fair”  along with veteran journalist N Ram, Uday Shankar, CEO, STAR India and Arnab Goswami, Chief Editor of Times Now.

The Governor of Maharashtra, Mr. K Sankaranarayanan will confer the RedInk Lifetime Achievement Awards 2013, upon N Ram and renowned columnist Kuldeep Nayar, for a career dedicated to good journalism. More than 20 other journalists will receive awards in various categories for excellence in journalism at the event.

The Red Ink Awards for 2013 received over 900 entries from journalists all across India. Winners have been chosen in nine competitive categories including Sports, Media & Entertainment, Health & Environment, Crime, Business, Politics, Television Story, Science & Innovation and Photo Journalism. The awardees have been selected by an eminent jury comprising some of the leading names in journalism, films, sports, advertising and communication.  The Lifetime Achievement Awards were selected by the managing committee of the Press Club based on a survey of leading and senior journalists from all over the country.

The Press Club, Mumbai was founded in 1968 in conjunction with the Bombay Union of Journalists as a professional and cultural platform for journalists working in the city. It has been striving to encourage high standards of professional integrity and skill in news reporting.
