Zubeen Garg will always be associated with the movie Gangster because of his famous song ‘Ya Ali’. His first album came in the year 2006 and his new album is coming this year. He feels that he has waited too long for his second album. On asking he says, “I wanted to do some experiments with my album. That’s the reason I have waited. This album is a mix of different cultures.”
Zubeen also sings for Assamese and Bengali films. He is one of the leading singers in the north-east province of India. He has sung in more than 40 languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Oriya, Bengali, Marathi, Nepali, English, Bodo, Mishing and many more regional languages. Garg is also a prominent actor in Assamese films. His films have won national awards.
On being asked about the live concerts Zubeen says, “In West Bengal the audience come for live concerts in great numbers. But Mumbai is dead when it comes to live concerts. It is only in live shows where musicians can actually connect with the audiences.”
