The Indian making his acting debut with Hollywood; playing a tourist in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spiderman 2 recalls sharing screen space with powerhouse actors Jamie Foxx, Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone; Prashant Rai believes the experience will be an unforgettable one!
Originally from Jharkhand & settled in Manhattan, Prashant Rai with his talent & right moves bagged his first Hollywood ticket & making a debut with a movie as huge as The Amazing Spiderman 2, it is the perfect break one could have asked for. Moreover the actor played a significant role, you will see the Indian in an extreme fight sequence between Spiderman (Andrew Garfield) & Electro (Jamie Foxx).
Reminiscing about his extremely wonderful experience shooting on the sets of The Amazing Spiderman 2, Prashant Rai exclaims, “Everything is simply magnanimous. The set is extravagant, you have 8 huge cranes lifting the Spiderman, the whole look & feel, being a part of the huge battle between Spiderman & Electro. The experience of working in minus 5 degree temperatures, windy nights with an excellence par crew, it is unforgettable for an any actor, besides it being my debut film; it is an experience of a lifetime.”
Excitedly recalling his shooting experience during the filmmaking of The Amazing Spiderman 2, “I vividly remember Jamie wearing a hood with his face painted in blue & his dress had some lights. We started shooting in spring when the temperature was below minus five degrees.”
Most of the scenes were filmed at Gold Coast Studio & Long Island & Times Square, he continued, “The nights were very windy & the scene being set in scene we couldn’t wear jackets which added to the difficulty. We would take breaks for few minutes in the middle to get warm covering ourselves with the blanket & with hand warmers.”
The entire fight sequence was shot in 20 nights.
Immensely impressed with Jamie’s dedication, Prashant mentions, “The way he practiced his shots to perfection before every shot was commendable.”
Smitten by Emma Stone, he adds, “I’m lucky to have a scene with her. She is stunning in real life too as beautiful she is on screen.”
Surely Prashant Rai had an experience of a lifetime, “The experience is unforgettable, and food arrangement was fantastic. We had Indian Chole Bhature with Rice & Naan. I worked for 15 nights, sleepless nights but when it ended I wanted more of it. Everyone should go watch a movie because of the hard work put behind it. It is absolutely the best Spiderman movie till date.”
