Hema Malini will inaugurate the JIFF 2013

Jaipur , Jaipur International Film Festival will be inaugurated by famous bollywood actresss Hema Malini.The opening ceremony of JIFF on 30th  at Golcha.In this five day celebration of films ,the films will be presented on 11 screens at 8 different places in the city.There are also some Seminars and Workshops during JIFF,in which some famous cine personalities are  going to participate including character artist, Prem Chopra, famous bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore,Raveena Tandon, Diya Mirza, Sri Lankan actress Neeta Fernando,Anand Patwardhan, Arun Dutt(son of late Guru Dutt), famous columnist Jaiprakash Chowksey,cine analyst  Komal Nhata, director Pratim Dasgupta, Bijoy Jena, Biju Mohan, SudiptoChattopadhyay.

JIFF director, Hanu Roj told that the opening film this year will be “life Goes On” . It is a story about a modern Indian Bengali Doctors family, set in today’s London. The main characters include Sanjay, who rediscover lives of his daughters after the sudden death of his wife, Manju.

Sanjay faces new challenges & crisis with modern lives of his daughters, especially with the youngest daughter, Dia who is in love with a Muslim boy.This declaration of his daughter made him to recollect his childhood & trauma of hindu-muslim riots during Bengal partition.Here the viewers can get the shadow of Shakespeare’s famous play “King Lear”. The lead actors are Sharmila Tagore and Om Puri.

 

Cinema of 100 years will also be a focus

Keeping hundred years of cinema in mind, JIFF is going to present more than 50 feature films this year, including 10 films, which are going to be released for the first time, these are “swara” from srilanka,”almira” in kannada &”shobhna’s seven night” directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay in which lead actress is Raveena Tandon .Hollywood film”The Wind Cannot Read(1958)”has the honour of the first  hollywood film which was shot in rajasthan.This film was based on the burma war of 1942.Jaipur’s famous commentator, Jasdev singh has also played a role in this film. Apart from this, some of the indian classics such as Mughal-e-Azam,Kagaz ke Phool, Daag, Saaransh are also there in the list.
