THE MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
Spectacular fashion show by ace designers Archana Kochhar and Rohhit Verma
As the city gears up to witness the best sea vessels at the latest edition of the Mumbai International Boat Show, Gitanjali Group partners with this luxury event to host the opening night preview with a glamorous Fashion Show at the inaugural function.
The crème de la crème of Mumbai city came down to witness the exclusive event and the showcasing of eclectic designs by ace designer Rohhit Verma and Archana Kochhaar. Bollywood actress Geeta Basra and Dil Toh Bachaa Hai Ji fame Shraddha Das donned Archana’s beautiful garments and strutted on the ramp accompanied by gorgeous models displaying the exquisite apparels by the designers.
The evening commenced with the opening show put up by designer Archana Kochhar’s showcase. Her “Exotica” collection was inspired by the soothing energies emitted from the sun kissed sand and the blue sea and bedazzled audiences. The resort wear collection showcased at the event was a blend of lightweight sheer white kaftans, playful jump suits, sheer gowns in shades of neon pink and orange. The garments were minimally embellished with appliqué work, patch work, sprinkled and dusted over with crystal stones.
The evening got more exciting and memorable with designer Rohhit Verma’s HARE Collection. His designs represented the drama of seduction in drapes and included classy and elegant pieces inspired by the women of today. Models showcased beautiful creations with delicate cowls with exquisite embroidery in pastel shades making each spandex dress seem cool and comfortable for the perfect modern women of today.
The sensational evening ended on a high note, with boating enthusiasts eagerly looking forward to the next few days of the annual leisure boating event. The 6th edition of the Mumbai International Boat Show will enchant the city with a wide variety of day boats, speed boats, security boats, personal watercrafts, kayaks, boating accessories, marine engines, marine toys and some of the finest, most luxurious yachts, large boats and sail boats.

The 6th Annual Mumbai International Boat Show (MIBS), to be held between February 23th and 26th at the MMRDA grounds at the Bandra-Kurla Complex, promises to be the most spectacular marine exhibition Mumbai has seen. Over the year, the show has enjoyed a steady patronage of 15,000 visitors including several HNIs, marine industry professionals and boating enthusiasts from around the world.
MIBS 2012 is recognized and sanctioned by the Government of Maharashtra, Indian Coast Guard, Yachting Association of India, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, and the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation. The show has also received the support from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). In their efforts to promote the boating industry in India, CII and Mumbai Boat Show Pvt. Ltd. have invited speakers from India and around the world to chart a way forward for the industry at the CII International Boating Conference titled ‘Navigating Forward,’ to be held on the 24th February , Bandra-Kurla Complex.
