Girish and The Chronicles connect with their fans on A Google Hangout

Girish and The Chronicles, the latest addition to the Universal Music India roster, recently participated in a Google Hangout, where the band members interacted with their fans and spoke about their music.

It was in partnership with Planet Radiocity and Indigo91.9 fm. The fans were chosen on the basis of a contest that was run across social media platforms, with support from Vh1 and Hard Rock Café, who have associated with Universal Music India to create Contrabands, an indie artist platform.

Subarna Roy, Artist and Repertoire, Universal Music India, said, “We’ve seen that rock as a genre has started to gain an even greater following in recent times and there are some bands out there who pack a lot of talent, hard work and commitment into their overall brand value. ‘GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES’ is one such band that we believe has worked exceptionally hard on all fronts and we’re very thrilled to have them on the Universal Music roster”.

GNTC adds, “This was a one of its kind of experience that GNTC had. It was great to see so many fans joining us there, all thanks to this new technology. We have been able to connect with our friends and fans not only in India, but in Germany and Philippines as well. This has been a really wonderful experience, being able to connect with all our fans and do a live chat.”

They went on to add, “It was more than a video chat. It was more like an Online Live Concert or an Interview Concert as we would like to describe it, where people were asking questions about the music, band and also placing requests at the same time. We had a wonderful time, thanks to Universal Music Group.”

Formed on 18th October, 2009 in Gangtok, Sikkim (India), Girish and The Chronicles consist of four members- Girish Pradhan as the Lead Vocalist, Nagen Mongranti on the drums, Suraz Karki as the Lead Guitarist and Yogesh Pradhan as the Sound engineer, who also handles the Guitar and Bass. Created with a motive to revive Hard Rock, Slow Rock, Blues Rock and Heavy Metal, some of the band’s popular songs include tracks like A New Beginning, Loaded, Golden Crown and YesterYears. GNTC has even performed at the Converse Original Band event, covered by the Rolling Stones magazine, in addition to a plethora of many other events and gigs.
