PRIYAL PRAKASH ADDED STYLISH INNOVATIVE TOUCHES TO HER COLLECTION AT THE TALENT BOX
Priyal Prakash’s collection “Linea” was all about going back to basics and forayed into the evolution of garments through structured lines.
The collection aimed at being a conceptual contemporary mix between Western and Indian clothing, with the basic idea of using straight and angular lines to draw out silhouettes for both styles.
Keeping the colour palette to muted hues such as grey, brown, rust gold, deep mustard and black; the line showcased unusual silhouettes, which were structured, with emphasis on human body parts like waists, arm sockets, neck, as well as the torso area to break the female body form down to geometric components.
Fabrics such as Bhagalpur tussar silk, organza and other Indian handloom fabrics were used to balance out the structured shape of the pieces, which were a collection of dresses, gowns, kurtas, saris and lehengas.
The piece that stole the audience’s breath away was a lovely one shoulder kaftan gown with fabric and bead work on the bodice replicating the warp and wefts seen on fabric.
Experimental with beautiful ingenuity, Priyal Prakash’s collection “Linea” struck the right cords and left the audience in awe.
MAKING A DISTINCT FASHION STATEMENT WITH THEIR COLLECTION KAPIL AND MMONIKA ARORA CREATED STYLE AT THE TALENT BOX
Kapil and Mmonika took the audience visually to exotic islands as their spring/summer collection was a mix between ‘contemporary party wear’ and ‘tropical holiday.
The pieces were a range of tailcoats, jackets, Kaftan dresses, skirts, sheer blouses, tunics, tops, mini capes, boleros, gowns, jumpsuits and wide leg trousers.
Gauzy separates spiced up the collection along with kick pleats, thread drills which helped build on the poised look of the garments. In addition the asymmetric jackets pin stripes, shoulder cut-outs were an eye-catching part of the collection.
Exciting, fresh colours like rose, yellow, red and orange graced the runway, while colours such as ecru, eggshell, grey, beige, olive green and blue gave the collection a regal touch.
The line also offered vintage pieces with pearl and bead embellishments along with unusual pairings in beige with purple and light green with pink for those who preferred a classier look over the youthful vigour of the collection.
Captivating and dreamy, Kapil and Mmonika’s line would be perfect for those who want a little tropical fun to be a part of their wardrobe.
