FREEDOM – My story – Arunaraje’s Autobiography was launched in Mumbai by Hema Malini, Naseeruddin Shah & Ramesh Sippy on 9th May.
The event had readings by national award winning actors Rajeshwari Sachdev and Naseeruddin Shah along with the author Arunaraje Patil, also a winner of 5 National Awards.
It is written by Arunaraje Patil, with a Foreword by Shyam Benegal and published by HarperCollins.
FREEDOM – My story is the journey of this girl growing up in a young independent India and finding her feet in filmdom in a male dominated profession as the first girl technician in the film industry.
It is also about how films were made 50 years ago and what has changed and what she had to deal with in her personal life. An inspiring story of not just surviving odds but charting her own course, personally and professionally to live that life of freedom!
It is the chronicle of a radical thinker and filmmaker as also an acute look into a young changing nation.
