Farhan Akhtar to perform at UA festival in Delhi

Brand new all-ages festival ‘U/A’ is heading to Delhi this February

Farhan Akhtar, YouTube sensations Boyce Avenue, Tanmay Bhat, Abish Mathew and others to perform.

Only Much Louder, the creators of some of India’s most loved festivals like BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender and Stage42, now brings a complete entertainer for fans of all ages. Titled ‘U/A’, the festival features diverse mix of experiences – music and comedy performances, a range of carefully picked intelligent and exciting activities, and specially crafted immersive experiences. The festival kicks off its first edition in Delhi on 13-14 February 2016.

From workshops like ukulele playing and 3-D Printing to activities such as poi play, hula hoop, slacklining, Nitrogen science labs and the Magical Floating Market, U/A offers a whole new weekend experience that will appeal to a teenager as much as it will engross an adult. These curated experiences will be followed by live shows from some incredible music and comedic talents.

Vijay Nair, CEO, Only Much Louder says, “The options for quality entertainment in the country for people outside the “youth marketing” demographic are very limited. U/A is an attempt to fill in this gap with an all-encompassing festival that has something for literally everyone. With this one, we will go beyond just music and comedy to create a more interactive and immersive experience, one that we hope will resonate with fans even after the festival is over.

The festival features six curated zones:

The Big Stage: Catch Farhan Live, acclaimed actor-director Farhan Akhtar’s live music outfit, and Florida based international YouTube sensations Boyce Avenue. Tanmay Bhat from India’s biggest and edgiest comedy collective, All India Bakchod, Abish Mathew, one of the most unique sketch, improv and stand-up comedians, Biswa Kalyan Rath, sarcasm heavy stand-up comedian and co-host of YouTube comedy series ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews’, and Anuvab Pal, one of India’s best known stand-up comedians, screenwriters, playwright and novelist at the Big Stage. Each of these artists will perform special sets that they don’t usually play at other live events.

Creator’s Corner: A carefully-picked list of workshops in various fields including music, technology, art, science, and logic. Assemble a solar-powered miniature car, try paper marbling, learn to play a ukulele, print 3-D structures, and experiment with illusionist’s tricks.

U/A Lab:  The one lab where you don’t need to balance equations. Check out the Nitrogen-led science experiments and a fantastical bioluminescent interactive installation here.

The Playground: Walk the slackline, create spin art, dabble with poi play, paint your best friend’s face and capture the memory with some cool pictures at the photo booth. Just some fun-off-the-mill activities here!

The Magical Floating Market: The never-seen-before Magical Floating Market has weird, peculiar, spectral and other-worldly creatures hosting stalls and trying to sell things that you will never manage to get your hands on otherwise – from bottled charms to dragon scales – they have a range of bizarre things on offer. There’s no money accepted here. Be ready to trade your laughter or your dreams for these unique items. With a 20-member cast, the Magical Floating Market will be the first immersive theatrical experience on such a large scale in the country.

Food and Flea Bazaar: The Bazaar will feature independent artists, DIY makers, entrepreneurs, people with dreams and great food and finds. From caramel popcorn and cotton candy to a chef’s spread to pretty trinkets, evocative art, and quirky collectibles, get them all here.

Season tickets to U/A are available on Insider.in at Rs. 1500 and Single Day Tickets at Rs. 999. Children below 10 years and grown-ups above 60 years enter free.
