Divya Kumar who makes her directorial debut with Yaariyaan,has roped in 5 fresh faces to essay lead characters in her film that revolves around the lives of college students.
Talking about her casting decision says Divya, “In the past several college-based films have cast actors much older than what the role requires.I didn’t want to do that just to make the film commercially viable.Audiences today are looking for fresh faces and new talent”.
Taking the road less traveled, the director is also keen on having her target audience’ opinion much before the film’s release – Divya Kumar is looking to show the film to college students and is even open to implementing their suggestions – ” Their opinions matter the most for the film, since it is a movie for the youth.”adds the director.
