Devyani Khobragade lands at Mumbai Airport amidst cheers and loud applause from the eager crowd of people waiting to welcome her.

Indian Media Link and Events Management Promoter Shri K.Ravi organized a grand welcome of Dr. Devyani Khobragade at the Mumbai Airport. She visited the city from Delhi after Khobragade left the United States by plane to India On January 9, 2014.

The 39-year-old Khobragade returned to India Jan 10, leaving behind her Indian American husband and two children. Her children and husband are to join her in India soon, as per the news we hear.

The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh criticized the actions of the US authorities as “deplorable” On December 18, 2013. Government officials and ministers in India reacted strongly against the arrest of the diplomat and the way she was treated. Protests took place outside the US consulates in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. But brave as she is she went through the ordeal sportingly and represented her country with Pride and Dignity.

Devyani Khobragade, 39, is an Indian Foreign Service officer who until 18 December 2013 was Deputy consul General in the Consulate General of India in New York. She joined Indian Foreign Service in 1999. In her capacity of deputy consul general for India, she handled women’s affairs as well as political and economic issues. Khobragade is married to a U.S. citizen, New York-born Aakash Singh Rathore, a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. They have two children.

There was a virtual stampede at the Airport  as the Paparazzi were clamoring to click her. Dr. Devyani wanted to interact with the media but could not because of the huge crowd surrounding as she was leaving for the Chaitanya Bhoomi.
