Darren Aronofsky’s epic Noah boasts of superlative VFX & a Heavyweight Star-cast

Darren Aronofsy’s Noah, which is only few weeks away from its release date, is all set to tell the larger-than-life story of Noah and his Ark. The film is about Noah, who has visions of an apocalyptic deluge, and takes measures to protect god’s creation from the coming flood.

Bringing this story to life, will be the stellar star cast of the film, along with stunning VFX and graphics. One scene, which shows animals approaching Noah’s Ark, boasts of being the result of the most complicated digital rendering in the history of the company which executed it, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). Tiniest details have been taken care of, starting from the colors to the hair on the animals’ skin. The fact that ILM has worked on blockbuster movies like Avatar and E.T., says a lot about the scene. Noah is sure to be a visual spectacle, more so in 3D.

Noah will star ace actors like Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly. Playing the protagonist ‘Noah’, is Russell Crowe who rose to fame after his acclaimed performance in Gladiator and won the Academy Award for his role in 2000. He recently starred in Man of Steel, where he played ‘Jor-El’, the father of Superman.

Jennifer Connelly, who received her breakout role in Requiem for a Dream in 2000, will be seen as Noah’s wife- Naameh. She had earlier starred opposite Crowe in A Beautiful Mind in 2001 and won the Best Supporting Actress for the portrayal of his wife.

Playing their daughter, ‘Ilah’, is the talented Emma Watson, who made her debut as Hermione Granger in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and went on to co-star in the Harry Potter series for the next 10 years. Born in France and brought up in England, Emma was recently seen in The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) and The Bling Ring (2013).

Popular Welsh actor, Anthony Hopkins, who started in television and gained immense fame in films, will be seen portraying the role of Noah’s father, ‘Methuselah’. Hopkins, who has turned to father figure roles was seen playing the role of ‘Odin’ in the Thor series (2011 & 2013) and is known for his ace portrayal of ‘Hannibal Lector’ in The Silence of the Lambs.

The star-cast, which includes actors who have never failed to leave the audience awestruck, along with the astounding VFX and graphics, are sure to cast a spell with their performance in Noah.

Presented by Paramount Pictures, Noah is slated for release on 28th March. The film will be released by Viacom18 Motion Pictures in India.
