Dancing Sunday in Delhi with Master Marzi!

Even the rains couldn’t stop dance enthusiasts in Delhi to attend celebrity television judge, Marzi’s Master Class! Hundreds of participants from across Delhi and NCR made their way to learn from Marzi who took center stage with his dear friend and co – performer at The Shiamak Davar Dance Company, Aneesha Dalal.

Delhi happens to be the first stop of Marzi’s four city Master Class tour of India with Aneesha.  Up next is Pune (15th August), then Bangalore (16th August) and the tour ends in Mumbai (23rd August). Popular judge on television, Marzi’s fan following reaches all age groups owing to the variety of shows he has been on, including Nach Baliye, Dance India Dance – Doubles, Dance Ke Superstars, DID- Supermoms and DID – Li’l Masters. Making sure everyone gets a chance to dance with him and interact, students from ages four to literally over eighty came for the master class in multiple time slots through the day.

“People love to dance in Delhi and Shiamak’s classes are extremely popular here. So this was one opportunity to meet all the students and dance with them. Some of the finest dancers in Shiamak’s Dance Company have come from Delhi, so the potential here is amazing. I must say, dance comes naturally to most people here and you’ll be surprised it’s not only Bollywood and Bhangra; they’re amazing at Hip Hop and Contemporary as well. I had a great time teaching here.” says Marzi.

Another star teacher, Aneesha Dalal who is probably one of the most inspirational dancers in India accompanied Marzi to teach at the master class. Recipient of the IBN 7 Guru Shishya Award with Shiamak and voted as one of the fittest women in India by Vogue, she is seen in all award shows and films choreographed by Shiamak dancing as the lead with the biggest Bollywood stars.

“I have come to Delhi every few years to teach Shiamak’s classes. This is what I love about dancing and teaching, you get to travel and meet so many different people who come together because of dance. The energy in that room with hundreds of dancers was just over whelming. This is the reason I never picked acting or modeling, and danced with Shiamak always. I’d have to agree with Marzi that the talent here is just too good! What better way to spend a Sunday than teaching dance with one of my best friend, Marzi.” says Aneesha,
