…Producer Uttung Thakur hosts success party for all
cast & crew!

Mumbai, 22nd Feb 2013: Marathi cinema is racing into newer and untouched territories, but even then, no film has ventured into the space that Balak Palak has, neither did any film handle the subject so delicately adding a tinch of humour. The results are for all to see – Balak Palak has received stupendous success with a gross collection of Approx. INR 9 crores so far.

Producer Uttung Thakur who debuted in his dream world of films, though hailing from a political background is on cloud 9, exclaims the producer, “It is a very proud and emotional moment for me, BP is amongst the top 3 grossers in the entire history of Marathi Cinema and it only reconfirms my belief in the subject of reality films. We knew the significance of the subject but didn’t expect audiences to take it so amazingly well and hence we are very happy to announce the Hindi remake of the film, which will go on floors soon.”

Uttung decided to share his thrill with all cast and crew and hence decided to host a party at the Kulraj Broadway Theatre where the evening began with a screening of the film. Present at the eventing were the entire crew of BP, National Award Winning Director Ravi Jadhav, co producer Riteish Deshmush & wife Genelia D’souza, Music director Vishal & Shekhar and the cast comprising of Shahshwasti Pimplikar (Dolly), Madan Deodhar (Bhagya),Bhagyashree Shankpal (Chiu), Rohit Phalke (Avya), Prathamesh Parab (Vishnu). Several friends and well wishers from the film industry too came to congratulate the producer and the cast.

Having won accolades for his films like Natarang and Balgandharv, director Ravi Jadhav has proved it more than once that his vision of depicting realism as a director is in complete sync of what the audiences wish to see on celluloid. Says Ravi, “ With the multifold and immense impact of technology and constant communication, kids today are being exposed to several facts of life and hence it is prudent that the right message reaches them. BP is a film that a 12yr+ can go and watch with parents and this will definitely give parents a new insight to deal with the matter.” Commenting on his producer Uttung, Ravi adds, “He is an amazing guy, very cool minded, knows exactly what he is doing and BP as a subject was his selection which has proved to struck the bulls eye.”

BP has a comforting setting that most kids and parents will identify with. The little instances that the film picks up are intensely relatable. The film has been released in 85+ theatres, 500+ shows across Maharashtra, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Ahmedabad. Next week release at Indore and more cities is slated. And with all rave reviews that the film has received from critics and audiences – the film definitely has a long way to go. BP has so far been showcased at New York Film Festival (NYFF) and South Asian Film Festival (SAIFF) and will be showcased at many more soon.
