A Journey of Style evolved from Good Taste

As the famous playwright Oscar Wilde once said, “I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.” An individual’s taste is defined by the influences and experiences they have had in life. These fine tastes remain etched in one’s personality and memories, which reflect and create an individual style. Narrating this story behind ‘Col.lab.oration’ of inspirations which create an individual’s style, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour is returning with its 11^th Edition.

The Tour, an amalgamation of fashion, music, design and technology, was unveiled at the Preview, at a spectacular evening at The Grand Hyatt. With every passing year, the tour is broadening the stage by presenting a stunning array of talent from diverse industries like fashion, entertainment, music and sports.

The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 Preview presented a sneak peek into the creations of fashion aces like Abraham & Thakore, Anju Modi, JJ Valaya, Little Shilpa, Masaba Gupta, Neeta Lulla, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rahul Mishra and Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna creating a sublime spectacle along with Gaurav Raina who has curated the music for the whole tour. Critically acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and internationally celebrated Indian chess champion Viswanathan Anand decoded influences in their lives that reflect their style.

Commenting on the Preview, Mr. Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President, Pernod Ricard India, said, “Like all fine experiences in life, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has a

This year, the inspiration is ‘Col.lab.oration’ between designers, musicians and celebrated personalities who will showcase their inspirations, co-creations and the journeys of style that have defined the taste of each of them. We hope the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour can take a step further in defining what style and good taste can bring to an individual’s life.”

‘Col.lab.oration’ was all about an individual’s inspirations and how different personalities came together to influence and intertwine their styles. These are inspirations which define a person, grow on a person with time, make one learn, and even unlearn at times eventually defining the taste of an individual that stays with them. Che Kurrien, one of the most stylish editors in India, held the stage and brought forward col.lab.oration stories of good tastes. Designers, style blenders and musicians present at the Preview shared some of the most fascinating experiences which evolved and sculpted their style as Che conversed with them decoding the roots of good taste and style.

Starting October, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour showcases across five cities starting from Gurgaon and then moving to Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

This year, the audiences shall witness a collaboration never seen before when the much awaited movie, Eros International and Bhansali Productions’ Bajirao Mastani unveils its style at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour. The timeless epic whose legacy has stayed with us for years found a natural blend of creative inspiration in the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, a name that has come to epitomize style and good taste. Furthering the association, couturier Anju Modi who has designed the elaborate designs for the film will be presenting the look and costumes while the leading lady from the film, Deepika Padukone will bring alive Mastani on the ramp.

Adding to the grandeur will be some of the most talented musicians in the country including Amit Kilam (Indian Ocean), Apeksha Dandekar, blot!, Func, Gaurav Raina, Karsh Kale, Kutle Khan, Madboy/Mink, Mame Khan, Midival Punditz and Tiripti Kharbangar performing on the Tour. Further, taking the excellence up a notch, renowned personalities from various sects of life will deconstruct Style – filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, sportsmen Jonty Rhodes and Viswanathan Anand and actor R. Madhavan will be the feature of each fashion shows, giving the audience a peek into their style influences.

Sharing his thoughts, Chess champion Viswanathan Anand said, “I am happy to be a part of this platform which brings varied talent together in such symmetry. For a sportsperson, his performance is the core to his style. Mine has been a collective experience, years of focus, passion and simplicity of thought. Expressing his thoughts during the Preview, Indian filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap said, “I have always believed that our strengths and personality evolves with all great experiences we go through in our lives. My experiences of street theatre, interest in international cinema, trying times in career… all of it has contributed to the way I speak, work and carry myself. I am excited to be associated with Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 and looking forward to the journey where col.lab.orations that build Style will be explored at every step!”
