An individual’s tastes are defined by the influences and experiences they have had in life. These fine tastes remain etched in one’s personality and memories, which reflect and create ones style. Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 brings forth a charming motley of fashion, music, design and technology, which once experienced, will keep coming back as a story of creativity, and as a magnificent concoction of good taste that always stay with you.
This year, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour delves deeper into ‘Style’, by decoding the elements that ‘col.lab.orate’ to form Style. Fashion aces Masaba and Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna presented a mix of kitsch modern interpretations with understated chic and sharp silhouettes and well defined cuts. Adding to the resplendence of this experience, Parineeti Chopra donned the finale design for Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna as she dazzled everyone as the showstopper for the day.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President, Pernod Ricard India, said, “Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has a legacy of bringing forth different facets of style. This year, the inspiration is ‘Col.lab.oration’ between designers, musicians, celebrated personalities who will showcase their inspirations, co-creations and the journeys of style that have defined their style and taste. We attempt to take the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour a step further in defining what style and good taste can bring to an individual’s life.”
On their collection ‘An Early Frost’ for Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna said, “Our inspiration is the forbidding winters where extreme temperature makes life’s existence more edgy and fragile. There, the deep forests and intruding animal skins bring back the spectacular beauty of life. We are delighted to present this collection on the stage of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, where such handpicked elements of style col.lab.orate to compliment the beautiful versatility of life. The platform empowers the design story which lies at the core of the collection, so it resonates with audience as good taste.”
The collection embodies the colours of the cold forest. Mist, ash, grey, dark oak find a place. Prints and textures have been inspired from the fur textures and infused with signature linear patterns in monotones, scaling and hand crafted appliqué has been inspired from the intriguing animal skin. Cold metallics can be seen in the collection by the use of riveting techniques. The silhouettes have a lot of layering and exaggerated sleeves. The capes, the high waist skirts, embossed dresses, laser mesh jackets are the key signatures of this collection. Ash – wash silk fabrics add the raw opulence to the collection.
Talking about her collection, designer Masaba said, “As Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 is all about exploring new depths of style, I’m truly elated to showcase my collection which is an experiment with an off-beat color palette, marrying jest and ingenuity. It is an attempt to enrapture the fashion industry and leave the on-lookers spell bound.”
With flamboyant silhouettes magnifying fun prints, the collection envisages a strong play of color and cut that’s modern and chic yet traditionally rooted. Enhancing everyday mundane objects through elaborate detailing, her signature prints and designs are fiercely bold.
Adding to this unique interpretation of stories curated by Masaba and Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna through their bold and chic designs, Karsh Kale, known for mixing disparate genres of music, col.lab.orated with Apeksha Dandekar to bring alive the vivacious designs on the stage of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015. Together, Karsh and Apeksha presented western uptempo music blended with hints of ‘func’ and ‘pop’ beats, leaving the audience completely mesmerized.
