Bestselling author Priya Kumar unveils her new book “The Inspiring Journey of a Hero” – a biography on Mr. O. P Munjal
Kumar launched her first authored biography based life and success of Hero Cycles’ founder
Internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and bestselling author, Priya Kumar, on Friday, March 7, unveiled her first authored biography – The Inspiring Journey of a Hero, based on the life and success of Mr. O.P Munjal, the founder of India’s leading bicycle manufacturing company, Hero Cycles. Published by Penguin, the launch of the book took place at Crosswords Kemps Corner, Mumbai, in the presence of Mr. O. P. Munjal’s daughter Priyanka Malhotra.
“The Inspiring Journey of a Hero” is an ode to the values and success principles of Mr. Om Prakash Munjal. He first started a bicycle spare parts business with his three brothers in 1944 while later moving to complete bicycle manufacturing with the brand name Hero in 1956, the first bicycle manufacturing unit in India, producing 639 bicycles in the first year. From there, fuelled by meager resources and an insatiable vision and Hero Cycles stands today as the world’s largest bicycle manufacturer.
Talking about the experience of writing this biography, author Priya Kumar said, “Writing this biography has been an immensely pleasurable experience for me. The journey that I embarked on with the Munjal family and the Hero Cycles crew, has transformed me and made me grow personally and professionally. With this book, I try to share the same experience with the readers and hope that it is as fulfilling a read for them as it was for me to write it.”
