Badshah who recently shot a music video for the show says I was blown away by the concept of Udaariyaan
He may prefer the lush fields of Punjab to the snowy landscape of Canada but India’s hit singer Badshah is sure about being blown away by the concept of COLORS’ upcoming show Udaariyaan. Set in Punjab, the show is about the hopes and dreams of a family who has dreamt from generations to migrate to Canada. Interestingly, it’s a dream shared by several people living in Punjab. Badshah concurs that the show has very well captured that dreams and emotions of people from Punjab. And believes, that even the tiny quirks have been encapsulated brilliantly in the show, Here’s what Badhshah has to say about Udaariyaan…
What does Udaariyaan mean to you? Any dream that you are still chasing?
Udaariyaan is my life for me. To me, it’s the leap of faith. And the dream that I am still chasing is to be able to eat as much as I want without gaining weight (laughs)!
What do you have to say about the concept of Udaariyaan?
Ans: I loved the concept of the show. It’s the brainchild of my favorite, Sargun Mehta, and when she told me about the concept, I was completely blown away even though I wasn’t aware of the beautiful and larger-than-life scale it’s being shot. I am sure viewers will love the show and will connect really well with the storyline, which has captured several midget aspects that people from Punjab will identify with.
What do you think of the cast of Udaariyaan?
Ans: The leads of the show are cast very well. Each character seems to be handpicked carefully to portray the characters. I have met all three, have seen their work too, and they have done absolute justice to their characters. The viewers will also realize that once they witness it all themselves.
People are migrating from Punjab to Canada in real life and the concept of Udaariyaan is exactly the same. What are your thoughts on the situation?
Ans: Everyone has their own thoughts and views. Like, I am happy being in Chandigarh, Punjab, and would never want to leave, and that is my choice. But eventually, it is an individual’s perspective, and if anyone wants to go, it’s their choice, and I respect that.
If given a choice will you shift to Canada?
Ans: I do have an option to settle in Canada, but I don’t want to.
