In a recent move, Astro has acquired rights for the film in 12 South East Asian territories including Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Commenting on the deal, Paul Hudson, Director, Cinestaan International Sales, said, “Good films always find an audience, and that’s just what happened with Hotel Salvation, and we couldn’t be happier with the sale to Astro.”

Written and directed by Shubhashish Bhutiani, Hotel Salvation follows a son faced with his father’s untimely demand to go and die in the holy city of Varanasi and attain salvation. The film starring Adil Hussain ( Life of Pi’), Lalit Behl ( Titli ), Geetanjali Ku!karni ( Cor›rt”), and Palomi Ghosh and has won 25 international awards, including the Grand Prix Enrico Fulchignoni and the UNESCO Gandhi Medal during its premiere at Venice.
The critics have raved about the film which garnered 4 and 5 star reviews in UK media. Asian Culture Vulture said “Gentle, unassuming, funny & poignant, Hotel Salvation is a small gem of a film in many ways” while Empire rated it 4 stars saying, “A simple story beautifully told”; “A moving, rewarding watch that’II get you thinking” (Time Out) rating 4 stars whereas Sight & sound called it ‘A triumph.’
