Arfi Lamba ecstatic to be on the Jury of Cairo Film Festival for the first time

Singh Is Bliing actor Arfi Lamba, is thrilled to be on the Jury of 2nd Awladna International Forum for the Arts of the Gifted at Cairo. The event will be held from the 27th April till 4th May, 2018.

Sharing his excitement Arfi says, “To be a part of the jury is a big honour, and to do it for those who are gifted, it’s a privilege. I have a long way to go as an actor and a producer but it gives me great joy to be able to give back and contribute towards such causes. Plus Cairo is a sweetheart now. I love the city and I live the city. This will be my fourth trip to Cairo and nothing gives me more pride to go back to Cairo and to make a contribution to their amazing culture and festivals.”

Arfi who made his debut with Oscar-Winning Slumdog Millionaire (2008) has been known and applauded for his path breaking performances and pushing the envelope with strong content and compelling cinema.

“I vividly remember the first time when I went to Cairo as I was invited as a state guest post the Oscar success of Slumdog Millionaire. The second trip was after the release and success of Prague and Fugly and my shooting for Berlin tourism. I was invited to be on the jury 23rd Cairo International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults in March 2015. It was such an honour. But I longed to go back to Cairo with a film. As luck would have it, the 20 minute short film that I acted in, The Idiot, Got selected in 39th Cairo International Film Festival in Cinemas of Tomorrow Section and we were invited again in November 2017,” he says.

So, for Arfi, Cairo Film Festival, is very close to his heart, as the festival caters to specially abled children across the world.
