Ananya Birla Thanks her Fans for Genuine Support
Ananya is a singer-song writer and an entrepreneur. She has launched her 5th international music single ‘Better’ just over a week ago, and has garnered more than 10 Million views.
Her last three singles ‘Circles’, ‘Hold On’ and ‘Meant To Be’ have been certified platinum in the English music category as per the Indian Music Industry (IMI) recognised criteria for certifications, making her the only Indian artiste to achieve this milestone.
Proud of her own achievements, she took to Instagram and posted about how thankful and lucky she feels to have all the fans on basis of her talent and not just her surname. The quote on the image reads “Born with a silver spoon then snarled.” “True, but do you see me using it?” He questioned.
Says Ananya “This post is for myself, more than anything else. From a young age, I’ve been hearing that everything probably comes easier to me given my surname, and some things on a personal front yes of course probably so. However – Firstly, no one chooses where they are born. I was born into my family- and I’m sure there’s a reason. People have said I should get a stage name, but why? I love my background and I’m so proud and grateful for it.
Since 17, I’ve worked my way up on my own esteem – out of choice, because I wanted to feel like I’ve achieved something by myself and for myself. Even though I haven’t so far, I have come to realise that not using a platform that you’ve been given since birth is almost ignorant.
I appreciate honest feedback if you dislike my music or a particular song but not accepting my art because of my surname can be pretty disheartening.
What i feel very grateful for is now all of you have started seeing ME. My hard work, my perseverance and my love towards my art- as I’m evolving into a more mature artist. And .. this is just the beginning. Miles to go – and I anyway don’t sleep.
Other than all of you, my parents, my team, my aunts, friends who are seniors from the industry, my friends, my vocal coach, my home label and Island UK – a special big, big thank you to my big bro @devsanyal for believing in me especially with my music. All he has ever seen is ME and pushed me to always be better and appreciated my talent. I’m living my dream, and dreaming bigger dreams!
