ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Born in 1981, in the oldest living city of the world, Gaurav carried Banaras in his heart wherever he travelled. What makes Gaurav’s art unique is his keen interest in science along with complete faith in the magic of art. He experiments and explores as much in science, as in art and doesn’t subscribe these two as conflicting or separate streams of exploration.

Since the early age of 12, Gaurav has had keen interest in themes such as the ghats of Banaras, its events and people, the spiritual aspects of scientific facts and art etc. which he has expressed through his paintings. His art work has been exhibited across cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Dharamshala and Benaras itself.

Gaurav is a modern painter who has learnt his art by studying the great masters. His art found a new direction under the tutelage of French artist and Therapist Leila Tayebaly. He is currently being trained as an Art Therapist, which has opened up a new dimension to his understanding of colors. It has also helped him in understand and explore the various spiritual aspects of art and its correlation with the human emotions.
