She even participated in the NDTV cleanathon alongside Amitabh Bachchan which was a cleanliness drive with the philanthropist as the official face of Smile Foundation.
Recognizing her devotion and work towards the upliftment of society, Divya received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award of excellence for philanthropy and her role in social work for the society. A unmatched and immense honour as well as adding yet another feather to her hat, Divya Khosla Kumar has proved that she truly is the Iron Lady of the Film fraternity and nothing can stop us women from making a change in the world!
Speaking on reviewing the award, divya said “It is such an honour to stand up here and receive this award. I have only dreamed that my work towards society will be recognised but now that dream has come true and I hope others follow suit. There is so much the daughters of India are capable of achieving, and yet only a few are able to realize their dreams. What stops them is us, the world around them, clipping their wings, stifling their voices, robbing them of opportunities. For the last three years, I have been associated with Smile Foundation and we are working together to help create a girl child friendly society to help our young daughters thrive. It has been an immensely satisfying journey, for me as a woman especially, to contribute to the cause and make way for many more strong and independent women. I am here to share this purpose with you, this happiness that comes from being able to do something, make a difference in their lives. Let’s come together to make it possible –She Can Fly, let’s give her the sky!”
