India’s most successful non-film artiste Adnan Sami is back after a 5 year hiatus with his brand new studio album ‘PRESS PLAY’. The man who gave Indi-pop a rich flavour long with composing several hit numbers, was in Delhi on the eve of Valentine’s Day i.e. on 14th Feb 2013 as a part of the promotions.

As a classical pianist, he has rendered solo performances before heads of state. As a popular artiste, he has hit the right note with Indipop and struck a chord with GeNext. Touted as having the fastest fingers on the keyboard, Adnan is a globetrotter not only because of the divergent geographical bearings of his career but also due to his range as a musician. The eagerly awaited 11 track album includes 8 brand new songs ranging from Sami’s signature ballads to his up – tempo lyrically stylized humour. All the songs on this album retain Adnan’s unmistakable proficiency in achieving the perfect blend of lyrics and melody.

Speaking on the album Sami says, “It’s been a long time since my fans have heard something new and exciting from me and I sincerely hope that their wait has been worth it. This album has been made with a lot of love.”

Adnan has been enthralling Indian audiences since his first release in 1999, an album of love songs titled Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao which comprised among others the massive hits Lift Karadey and the album’s title track Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao. The album went on to become one of the best – selling non – film albums of all time in India.

Adnan’s popularity only rose from there on, as he released his second album Tera Chehra which broke several records including those all Adnan had broken with this first album. Tera Chehra went on to become the biggest selling Indian album of all time in the US and Cananda, even surpassing Bollywood soundtracks.

Adnan’s singing career then skyrocketed as he became a hugely popular choice for lending his vocals for movies like Ajnabee, Lucky, Awaara Paagal Deewana, Shakti, Chor Machaay Shor, Saathiya, Yuva, Taare Zameen Par, Ishq Hota Naheen from the Mukta Arts film- Jogger’s Park and the super – hit songs Salaam – e- Ishq and Noor – e – Khuda from My Name is Khan to name a few.

In his career of 25 years, Adnan Sami has won many International Awards including the Nigar Award, Bolan Academy Award, Graduate Award, Stardust Award etc. He has given a Special Award of U.N.I.C.E.F. and a United Nations Peace Medal for a song he wrote and performed for Africa.
