Actor Gavin Casalegno narrates The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 on Prime Video, leaving fans in awe!
The Summer I Turned Pretty, the romance-drama’s second season on Prime Video is already more than halfway over, but there are still a few surprises in store for the audience. A recent plot twist left fans in awe as Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) stepped into the spotlight as the narrator in the latest episode number 5 -“Love Fool”. The show’s creator and writer, Jenny Han revealed that this decision was inspired by the books, where usually the audience heard Belly’s perspective but the second installment is partially told from Jeremiah’s perspective.
In order to provide viewers an incisive glimpse into Jeremiah’s actions, thoughts, and feelings, the actor, Gavin Casalegno expressed his excitement about the rare opportunity to dig into Jeremiah’s inner world.
He said, “Man, it was a blast. What’s so cool about Belly and Lola’s performance is the inner monologue and everything that’s in her head is on paper since it helps with our jobs of how to get to those places. To be able to see what was intended behind Jeremiah’s actions and mind and reactions and emotions was really cool because that’s not a very common occurrence. I feel like we’ll probably never have another job in our lives that is going to be similar to that, where it basically tells us what we’re thinking.”
The actor also added, “It was a good opportunity and an interesting learning experience to be able to contribute to the episode in a different way than I did normally. As I’m saying things and seeing things, I can remember what I was saying in my head with what was written on the paper. It was fun translating, basically, dialogue through my eyes with my voice from a studio booth hundreds of miles away. It was really weird.”
Based on the New York Times bestselling series by author Jenny Han, the five episodes from the second season are already streaming on the service. New episodes will air weekly on Fridays, leading up to the finale on August 18 streaming exclusively on Prime Video in 240+ countries and territories worldwide.
