Celebrating 130 years of Black Dog with finest gourmet created by Master Chef Italia Spyros Theodoridis
It was an unforgettable evening of the finest gourmet experience as luxury scotch, Black Dog celebrated its 130 years at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai.The evening witnessed a unique coming together of legendary Master Blender for Black Dog scotch, Richard Paterson and Master Chef Italia Spyros Theodoridis. An exclusive array of delicacies prepared by Master Chef Spyros, was fervently paired with aged and vintage variants of Black Dog. The exquisite taste and the rich wood flavorings of the Black Dog unambiguously perfected the evening with the unique food menu and brought alive the ‘Relax and Unwind’ proposition of the Black Dog Easy Evenings.
According to Richard Paterson, Master Blender for Black Dog and other renowned single malts, “Few scotch whiskies are said to be true indulgences. These few are painstakingly created and extended the luxury of time to create the perfect blend. For every bottle of Black Dog, these are a matter of de rigueur, especially so as it needs to live upto the legacy and perfection of its Scottish founder. 130 years have passed since then. The evening set off with Summer Vegetable Salad with Passion Fruit followed by pairing of the Black Dog Gold Reserve with Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian portions of the The Tagliolini with tomato pesto with dried turnip greens and marinated anchovies/ vegetables & Prawns Risotto/Veg Risotto were passionately paired with the Black Dog Reserve 18 Year Old.
The signature dish for the evening, Lamb Chops on creamed potatoes with crispy beets in a sauce of roasted vegetables was paired with the aged luxury Black Dog 21 Year Old Quintessence. Hand crafted to meticulous perfection by the Master Blender; the ISW 2013 Gold award winning Black Dog Quintessence 21 is a harmony of delight orchestrated by a multitude of seductive aromas that immediately arouse the senses. What more, Master Chef Spyros and Master Blender Richard Paterson also used the fine flavor of Black Dog to prepare an English Soup – a traditional Italian dessert to complete gourmet experience.
