It was not just Andrew Garfield’s dream to play the character of spider-man but there is also someone else who secretly desired to be the spider-man.
There is indeed a hidden spider-man in every teenager who wishes to come out just in time to fight injustice. Rhys Ifans the British actor who plays main villain believes so as well. The actor who plays the key role of villain says “When I was a kid, I was a huge Spider-Man fan. I used to want to dress up as him.”
Spider-man the character itself has been charming the audience worldwide but what attracted Ifans towards the character. “I didn’t become a graphic novel enthusiast by any stretch but what attracted me to Spider-Man was that he’s a kid, at school and being bullied, and the powers he acquires are a metaphor for puberty. So there’s something there. He’s not a distant billionaire like Batman, living on top of a mountain with a lot of money. He’s a kid. That’s the enduring appeal of him, I think.”
Rhys will be seen playing the role of Dr Curt Connors whose desire is put an end to his incompleteness transforms him into The Lizard.
The Lizard and the spider-man come face to face on the Indian screens as the Sony Pictures movie The Amazing Spider-man releases in 3D all over India on 29th June.
