A Musical Evening with Legendary Maestros Pandit Shiv Kumarji & Ustad Zakir Hussain

~Anand Trust, a charitable organization involved in altruistic activities brings together the most celebrated names of Santoor and Tabla on 15th January 2015~

The classical music lovers are in for a treat on 15thJanuary 2015 as Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Ustad Zakir Hussain will take the city on a blissful musical  journey as they will perform Live in Mumbai at the Nehru Centre Auditorium. The musical extravaganza by the greatest legends in the music industry is being organized by Anand Trust, a charitable organisation involved in altruistic activities and held in the aid of paying musical homage to spiritual Luminary Shree Shree MA Anandamayee.

 

A celebrated venue, a wonderful occasion and spectacular duo, the event would therefore be all that the patrons of music would crave for.  Catch the pioneering Santoor artist Pandit Shivakumar Sharma take on to the stage with his on stage companion – Ustad Zakir Hussain, the renowned tabla artists in a spectacular act.

Pandit Shivkumarji has been the pioneer of the Santoor and is credited to introduce the instrument to the Indian Classical repertoire. Tabla genius Ustad Zakir Hussain is one of the most famous and recognizable names in the Indian Classical and world music movement. Actress Juhi Chawla who has been supporting Anand trust for a decade will be anchoring the show.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to aid and support Shree MA Anandamayee KANYAPEETH Girls School situated on the banks of the river Ganga at Varanasi and the Anandamayee divinity center being built on the banks of river Narmada at Bhimpura.  The boarding school for girls is run on the ancient Gurukul system and runs only on donations as education, boarding lodging, all is gratis. The Anandamayee divinity center will have a meditation hall & rooms for ascetics and senior citizens who wish to come here for spiritual retreats.
