A Movie on Guru Sri Swāmi Samarth Mahāraj

The year 2013 started with the release of the movie Dehraadun Diary starring Adhyan Suman, Ragini Nandwani, Rohit Bakshi, Rati Agnihotri, Ashwini Kalsekar & produced by Swami Samartha Creations . The production house is now expanding its production portfolio with 2 Marathi Movies and 2 Hindi Movies. First off is a Marathi movie. As said by sources “The movie will be based on Guru Shri Swami Samartha and it is expected to see some few big names from the Marathi film industry”.

Previously the same production house produced  the superhit  Marathi Serial Krupa Sindhu telecasted on Mee Marathi. The show was one of the highest TRP grosser of its time. It was based on Shri Swami Samartha and Mr. Praful Samant played the role of swami in the serial. Our source has also revealed that Praful Samant will be playing swami again in this movie. On contacting the production house they neither confirmed nor denied the news but they are expected to make an official announcement of their projects very soon with the Cast details.

Swāmi Samarth Mahāraj (Marathi: श्रीस्वामी समर्थ महाराज, also known as Akkalkot Swāmi Mahāraj) of Akkalkot (died in 1878) was an Bharatiya Guru of the Dattatreya tradition , widely respected in Maharashtra, as well as in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. With Shripad Shri Vallabha and Narasimha Saraswati. He is often accounted as one of the three successive reincarnations of Guru Dattatreya. The ‘Gurucharitra‘ gives a lot of information about Him.
