Kamal Haasan Sings ‘Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein’ on India’s Best Dramebaaz
In fond memory of Sridevi… IBD contestants Raj and Shibhangi recreate the superstar’s hard-hitting film ‘Sadma’, moving Kamal Hasan to tears
Zee TV’s India’s Best Dramebaaz, the one and only acting based realty show of India, has once again wowed audiences with its mind-blowing talent this season. The cute li’l dramebaazes cracking you up with their innocence, mischievous ways and acting skills, the crackling chemistry between the judges Huma Qureshi, Vivek Oberoi & Omung Kumar and the fun camaraderie between hosts Shantanu Maheshwari & Vighnesh Pandey have surely left viewers coming back for more! While the top 12 talented performers are set to dazzle the audiences with their explosive acts, this weekend the legendry Kamal Haasan will be the celebrity guest on the show. The superstar visited the sets of India’s Best Dramebaaz along with his his co-star Pooja Kumar to promote their upcoming flick ‘Vishwaroopam 2’.
While all the super-talented kids entertained the celebrity guests and mentors with their outstanding acts, contestant Harsh Raj Lucky and Shubhangi’s performance left Kamal Hasan teary eyed. The contestants recreated Kamal Hasan and the late Sridevi ji’s iconic film ‘Sadma’ as a part of their act. With the act bringing back so many memories, Kamal Hassan welled up with emotions.
Remembering his co-star, Kamal Hasan shared, “It is very difficult to express this feeling. I met her when she was 15 and I was 20 at that time. I used to bully her a lot but also took good care of her. We played lovers in various films and many people assumed that we were real life lovers too but in fact it was quite the opposite as we shared a brother-sister bond. A lot of siblings play the role of Radha Krishna in school functions and religious gatherings, we were just like that – Radha Krishna. My connection with Sridevi is actually like the one we portrayed in the film Sadma.”
In fond memory of Sri Devi, Kamal Hassan also sang the evergreen song ‘Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein’ and dedicated it to her. His heart-warming performance made everyone emotional and nostalgic.
For many such fascinating moments and extraordinary performances, stay tuned to India’s Best Dramebaaz, this Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM, only on Zee TV
