Nawazuddin Siddiqui to star in the sequel to Phobia!
Defying conventional norms and raising the bar of versatility in his craft, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has positioned himself such that he has few of the best directors in the business vying for his dates. Recently lauded by fans and critics for a stupendous performance in MOM, the talented actor has a pile of scripts to mull over.
After working closely with the powerhouse performer in Munna Michael, producer Viki Rajani revealed that Siddiqui greenlit the sequel to the critically-acclaimed psychological thriller, Phobia. In part two of the film, Nawazuddin essays the central character, suffering from aviophobia, which means fear of flights. To be directed by Pawan Kirpalani, the highly anticipated sequel was planned much before the release of its original.
Says Viki, “After Nawaz had wrapped up Munna Michael, we met at his residence and jammed on this script. He immediately gave his nod. Phobia will always have a high-calibre actor as performance is paramount. Nawaz suits this character perfectly.” He also informs that the whole film is set in a plane and begins with Nawazuddin boarding a flight.
Viki adds, “We will begin work on a set once we lock the dates. He will start prepping for our film closer to the shoot.” Once the versatile actor finishes shooting for Chanda Mama Door Ke, in which he is cast as an astronaut, he will begin filming for the sequel.
