When Rahul Dahiya, debutant director of G KUTTA SE, decided he could no longer keep quiet about the ghastly honour killings prevalent around him, he was surprised to the support his film cast and crew gave him to achieve the unthinkable!
Honour killings happen around us, in families you never thought would go to that extent and some of us refused to keep quiet.
“The thought of making a film about this subject happened with the death of a girl from our acquaintance. She was someone I had seen when I had visited our native place. And then one fine day I heard she was no more. Surprised to hear about it, I asked my mother if she knows what happened. We asked around and were informed that it was a case of honour killing. For the life of me I couldn’t understand how a family can be driven with ‘honour’ to such an extent that they contrive to kill their loved ones. I decided this has to be voiced, that’s how this film G KUTTA SE, came about. What surprised me was the kind of support I received from my cast and crew, people were driven to say this story with an enthusiasm that asserted the fact that this film needs to be made,” stated Dahiya.
G Kutta Se written and directed by Rahul Dahiya, featuring Rajveer Singh, Neha Chauhan, Nitin Pandit, Rashmi Singh Somvanshi, Sandeep Goyat, Vibha Dikshit, Parth Sharma, produced by Vinod Sharma, co-produce by Sharib Raza. The Film is slated to release on June 16th, 2017.
