Terence Lewis off to France-

Ace Dancer and Choreographer, Terence Lewis, who recently made his acting debut in a short film adds another feather to his hat. Known for judging various national, international dance shows as well as TV reality shows like Dance India Dance, Nach Baliye and So You Think You Can Dance to name a few, is now is going to be the first Indian on 6-members jury of a French Short Film Festival of Rennes – 7eme Lune (7th Moon). The festival will take place from 15th to 18th March in Rennes, France.

What makes his appearance at the festival even more exciting is story of how he got this opportunity.  Terence was camping last year (July’16) in Corsica where he met a young group of prodigious talent who were part of the festival management. While Terence hid his identity and kept it low key but they connected on social media and discovered that he is a famous dance personality from India, who has great interest in cinema. Terence Lewis besides impressing them on the cinema legends talked liberally over barbecue on the essence of screenplay, direction and technical departments! Being an avid cinema lover, it didn’t take long for them to realize that Terence Lewis would add great value to their Jury with his in-depth knowledge of cinema!

“It’s an honour to be a part of the jury of this esteemed short film festival in Rennes! International cinema has always been close to my heart as it is thought provoking, intelligent and pregnant with meaning,” Lewis said in a statement.

He added: “French cinema hits you at the gut and it’s direction and artistry is real n unparalleled in the world.”

The festival is in its 4th edition and is headed by a French film director, Alain Guiraudie. The panel also includes other French directors like – Rebecca Zlotowski and Kim Chapiron, film critique Clément Graminiès and Winner of the third edition of the 7th Moon Mathias Minne. Having received more than 1000 films this year, the competition provides a platform to budding filmmakers and strives to promote the short form of expression in the cinema.
