La La Land jazzes with 6 Academy Awards including wins for Best Original Score and Best Original Song “City of Stars”
The 89th Academy Awards for the year made history again cherishing some of the finest cinema, music and artists of the time. The musical La La Land bagged 14 nominations this year and nabbing a total of 6 Academy Awards.
The Biggest win for the year with the best actress in a leading role Award for Emma Stone, the musical stands proud with the composer Justin Hurwitz bagging the 2017 Academy Award for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for City of Stars at the Oscars. The Famous Melody, City of Stars from the movie has received several accolades since its release and has finally etched its name in the history with the 89th Academy Awards bringing glory to the movie. The song features lyrics penned by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul jazzing on the tunes of Justin Hurwitz.
Apart from the Best Original score, the movie also triumphed awards for Best Cinematography (Linus Sandgren), Best Direction (Damien Chazelle )and Best Production Design(David Wasco; Set Decoration: Sandy Reynolds-Wasco).
