Twitter India and Rolling Stone India Celebrate A Women Special Edition of #RollingWith
Industry stalwarts, Sona Mohapatra, Shilpa Rao, Sandunes and Shubhangi Joshi come together for a special panel discussion about the opportunities and challenges women face in the music industry ~

After three amazing sessions of #RollingWith, Twitter India in partnership with Rolling Stone India is back with a brand new session of #RollingWith. Scheduled for tomorrow, this will be a Women Special editionfeaturing leading female musicians across diverse music backgrounds.
Tomorrow’s session will not only celebrate music across different genres in an innovative and engaging manner; it will also feature a panel discussion about ‘Women In Music: Opportunities and Challenges’. The panel will feature industry stalwarts – singer-songwriters and playback singers Sona Mohapatra and Shilpa Rao; independent producer Sandunes and singer-songwriter Shubhangi Joshi as they share their experiences in the world of music. From Sona Mohapatra with her Hindustani classical training and love for folk music making for an unconventional journey within the ranks of Bollywood; toSandunes who has made her mark in the niche genre of progressive electronic music; to Shilpa Rao who is known for her soul-rending songs on Coke Studio and many a Bollywood favourites; to Shubanghi Joshi, a self-taught guitarist – the panel will see the women from diverse music backgrounds converge to share their journeys in the music industry. The panel discussion will be broadcasted live on Periscope via @RollingStoneIndia and fans across the globe can ask the artists questions via Twitter using the hashtag #RollingWith.
The discussion will be followed by a #RollingWith Concert that will see Shilpa Rao belting out some soulful tunes accompanied by Anurag Naidu on the piano, Shubhangi Joshi and Maalavika Manoj better known as Mali. While the concert will be broadcasted live on Periscope, a couple of lucky fans will get a chance to watch the artists’ perform livetomorrow and their stories at the Twitter #BlueRoom – all they have to do is tweet their queries and requests to the artists using the hashtag #RollingWith to participate. Fans can also tune-in to @RollingStoneIndia from 7 PM onwardstomorrow, 25th October 2016 to catch up on the panel discussion and watch the artists’ performances!
#RollingWith is Twitter India’s first music series partnership with Rolling Stone India, which sees a curated line-up of indie artists and visiting global acts performing at the #BlueRoom which is broadcasted live on Periscope via @RollingStoneIN. These gigs include a delightful component of fan engagement where artists interact with fans on Twitter before/during the gig, participate in video Q&As, take a Twitter Poll to determine the track list for the evening, and use the Twitter Mirror to create fun GIFs and photos with them. A select set of fans also get a chance to watch the artist perform live at the#BlueRoom making it an experience like no other.
The first #RollingWith gig took place with British pop band, The Vamps (@TheVampsband), and saw enthusiastic young fans flood the #BlueRoom. The second gig saw popular rappers Divine (@VivianDivine), Naezy (@NaezyTheBaA), Bobkat(@TheRealBobKat)and Stony Psyko (@StonyPsyko) interact with young fans as they matched hip hop beats with them! The third session saw Prateek Kuhad (@prateekkuhad) sharing his journey into the world of music instead of pursuing a successful career in New York and the inspiration behind his songs.
