When Devdas released, it was slammed by Indiancritics for being over-the-top and melodramatic. But Corliss had loved the filmand supported it for the same qualities. Today, when he selects Devdasalongside The Artiste and Avatar as one of his 10 favorite films of themillennium, I feel that my struggle was worth it”
If that wasn’t all, the film isnow going to release in a 3D version to commemorate its 10 glorious years ofcinema.
Confirming the news says thedirector “This is the tenth year of Devdas and,somehow, the film hasn’t lost its sheen. We’re now going to do a 3D version ofthe film to commemorate these ten years”.
SunilLulla, who is part of the film corporation that is working on the 3-D version,says, “The film completes a decade this year. And to commemorate its 10thyear, we will release a 3-D version of this Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyayclassic.”
Withthe release of his forthcoming production Rowdy Rathore around the corner,thedirector-producer soon readies for his ambitious next tentatively titled RamLeela starring Kareena Kapoor- RanveerSingh .
